The term "Kashan" refers to a hand-knotted rug featuring a diamond-shaped medallion. Furthermore, artisans named the Shah Abbas fields after a Mogul king who played a crucial role in developing Persian textile art during the 16th and 17th centuries. These fields showcase a sequence of curvilinear flower motifs that create a garden-like background, which artisans incorporate into various Persian rug designs. They typically come in two styles: all-over or with a central medallion.
