Description
Origin
Tabriz Wool Rug 6.8×9.0, located in the north-west of Iran, is the country’s second-oldest city and has been a center for rug-making for centuries, if not millennia. Due to the vast scale of the rug industry in Tabriz, both the design and quality of its carpets vary significantly. As one of the most ancient rug-weaving hubs, Tabriz produces an impressive variety of carpet types. These range from medallion and Heart/Mahi designs to Nashi patterns (like this one), as well as figural, pictorial, and even three-dimensional rugs.
Rug Description
Artisans have carefully crafted this Tabriz Persian rug from wool with a silk base, featuring a large central medallion set against a cream-white garden field. The rug measures 7 x 5 feet and showcases a Naqsha design.
Hand-knotted and handmade, this rug skillfully blends wool and silk. Furthermore, the threads are dyed using natural pigments derived from vegetables.
With a PCI (knots per square inch) count of 180 x 120, this rug exemplifies the exquisite attention to detail that defines authentic Tabriz craftsmanship. The fine knotting contributes to its longevity, making it not only a beautiful piece but also a durable investment.
